Welcome to the Journal of Prison Education and Reentry (JPER), an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal focused on prison education and successful reentry into the community. Founded by scholars from Norway, Ireland, the UK, and the US, JPER promotes international perspectives and dialogue between researchers and practitioners. The journal publishes accepted articles online following review and revision. Its scope includes sociology, criminology, adult education and literacy, instructional design, mental and behavioral health, administration, and policy related to prison education and reentry. JPER publishes both research and practitioner contributions. Research articles undergo peer review, while practitioner works, including case studies, essays, action research, and instructional designs, are carefully selected and edited.
