Aims and Scope

The Journal of Prison Education and Reentry (JPER) is an international, interdisciplinary, Diamond Open Access journal dedicated to research and practice in prison education, correctional learning, rehabilitation, and community reentry.

JPER publishes original research, theoretical studies, policy analyses, practitioner papers, case studies, and reflective work from fields including education, criminology, psychology, sociology, law, public policy, arts and humanities, mental and behavioral health, spirituality and religion, and related disciplines.

The journal welcomes work on prison and higher education, literacy, vocational learning, teaching practice, reentry, rehabilitation, educational access, policy, ethics, institutional challenges, and the experiences of incarcerated and formerly incarcerated learners.
