Copyrights

As set out in the journal’s Submission Agreement, authors retain the copyright to their articles. Publication in the journal does not require authors to transfer ownership of their copyright to the journal or publisher. Authors therefore remain the legal copyright holders of their published work.

In consideration of publication, authors agree that their article will be published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This license permits anyone to read, download, copy, share, distribute, reproduce, and adapt the published work, including for commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author or authors and the journal is acknowledged as the place of first publication.

Under the CC BY 4.0 license, users may also create translations, adaptations, educational materials, derivative works, data compilations, or other forms of reuse based on the published article. Such reuse does not normally require additional permission from the authors or the journal, provided that the terms of the license are followed. Appropriate attribution should include, where reasonably possible, the name of the author or authors, the title of the article, the journal in which the work was originally published, and a reference to the applicable CC BY 4.0 license. Any changes made to the original work should also be clearly indicated.

Authors retain the right to use, reproduce, distribute, archive, and share their own published work. They may include the article in institutional or personal repositories, academic profiles, teaching materials, future scholarly works, books, theses, conference materials, or other appropriate publications, subject to proper acknowledgement of its original publication in the journal.

The journal’s use of the CC BY 4.0 license is intended to promote broad dissemination, accessibility, reuse, and scholarly impact while ensuring that authors continue to receive appropriate recognition for their work. The license supports open scholarly communication by allowing published research to be used by researchers, educators, practitioners, policymakers, students, and the wider public without unnecessary permission barriers.

Where an article contains third-party material, such as photographs, illustrations, figures, tables, datasets, or other content for which the authors do not own the copyright, authors are responsible for obtaining any permissions required for publication and reuse. Unless otherwise stated in a credit line, the CC BY 4.0 license applies to the article as published. Material specifically identified as being subject to different copyright or licensing terms must be used in accordance with those terms.

By agreeing to the Submission Agreement, authors confirm their acceptance of these copyright and licensing conditions and authorize publication of their article under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
